Install RolePlaya

RolePlaya installs straight from your browser, with its own icon and its own full-screen window. No app store, nothing to update, and it takes up almost no space.

Safari recommended

  1. Open roleplaya.com in Safari.
  2. Tap the three dots button next to the address bar. On older iOS versions, or if your address bar is at the top, tap the Share button (the square with an arrow pointing up) and skip to step 4.
  3. Tap Share.
  4. Scroll down and tap Add to Home Screen. If you don’t see it, tap View More first.
  5. Leave Open as Web App switched on if you see it, then tap Add.

Chrome, Edge or Firefox

  1. Open roleplaya.com.
  2. Tap the Share button in or next to the address bar.
  3. Tap Add to Home Screen, then Add. If the option is missing, use Safari instead.

The home screen app keeps its own login, separate from Safari, so log in once more the first time you open it.

Chrome recommended

  1. Open roleplaya.com in Chrome.
  2. Tap the three dots menu at the top right.
  3. Tap Add to Home screen, then Install. On some phones the option is called Install app.
  4. RolePlaya appears on your home screen and in your app drawer.

Samsung Internet

  1. Open roleplaya.com in Samsung Internet.
  2. If an install icon appears in the address bar, tap it. Otherwise tap the menu (three lines) at the bottom right.
  3. Tap Add page to, then Home screen.

Firefox

  1. Open roleplaya.com in Firefox.
  2. Tap the three dots menu.
  3. Tap Add app to Home screen (on some versions it says Add to Home screen or Install).

Prefer a file you install yourself? Download it, open it and allow installs from your browser when Android asks. The browser install above does the same job without a download.

Chrome recommended

  1. Open roleplaya.com.
  2. Click the install icon at the right of the address bar (a screen with a down arrow). Or open the three dots menu, then Cast, save and share, then Install page as app.
  3. Click Install. RolePlaya opens in its own window with a Start menu entry and a taskbar icon you can pin.

Microsoft Edge

  1. Open roleplaya.com.
  2. Click the app available icon in the address bar. Or open the three dots menu, then Apps, then Install this site as an app.
  3. Click Install.

Firefox

  1. Make sure Firefox is up to date (version 143 or later).
  2. Open roleplaya.com and click the web apps button in the address bar.
  3. Click Yes if asked to pin RolePlaya to your taskbar.

Safari recommended

  1. Open roleplaya.com in Safari (macOS Sonoma or later).
  2. Choose File, then Add to Dock. You can also click the Share button and choose Add to Dock.
  3. Click Add. RolePlaya sits in your Dock and Launchpad.

Chrome or Edge

  1. Open roleplaya.com.
  2. Click the install icon in the address bar, or use the browser menu as on Windows.
  3. Click Install, then keep it in the Dock.

Chrome

  1. Open roleplaya.com.
  2. Click the install icon in the address bar. Or open the three dots menu, then Cast, save and share, then Install page as app.
  3. Click Install. RolePlaya appears in your launcher and can be pinned to the shelf.

Chrome, Chromium or Edge

  1. Open roleplaya.com.
  2. Click the install icon in the address bar, or find Install page as app in the browser menu.
  3. Click Install. RolePlaya is added to your applications menu.

Firefox on Linux does not install web apps, so just keep roleplaya.com bookmarked or use one of the browsers above.

Questions

Do I need to update the app?

No. The installed app loads RolePlaya fresh each time, so you always have the latest version.

Will I stay logged in?

Yes. Log in once inside the app and tick Remember me.

I can’t see the install option

Make sure you are on roleplaya.com itself, not inside another app’s built-in browser (for example a link opened from Discord or Instagram). Open it in Safari, Chrome or Edge directly and the option appears.

How do I remove it?

Remove it like any other app: press and hold the icon on a phone, or right-click it on a computer and choose uninstall. Your account and chats are saved on RolePlaya, so nothing is lost.

RolePlaya is an 18+ platform only. Chats can be flirty, romantic and mature between adult characters. Images never contain nudity or pornography. Nothing involving minors.
