How Do I Stop a Character Repeating Itself on RolePlaya?

The short answer: when a character keeps saying the same things or the scene stops moving, break the pattern. Use a Twist or a Time Skip from the dice menu, give a double bracket instruction such as ((move the scene forward)), or use Regenerate with direction and tap Move the scene forward. Edit out repeated lines so the character stops copying them, and give the character something new to react to.

Quick fixes

1. Twist. Tap the dice and choose Twist for 60 Playa Points. Something unexpected happens and the scene has to move.
2. Time Skip. Jump to later tonight, the next morning or a week later for 40 Playa Points.
3. Direct it. Add ((move the scene forward)) or ((something new happens)) to your message. Free.
4. Rewrite the reply. Regenerate with direction and tap Move the scene forward.
5. Edit out the repeats. Characters copy what is already in the chat. Remove a repeated phrase or action from a few replies and it stops coming back.
6. Change model. Different AI models write differently. Tap the model name in the message bar.

• Bring something new. A new place, a new person, a decision, a secret. Characters follow your lead.
